Shingles and Postherpetic Neuralgia

Postherpetic neuralgia occurs when pain persists after a shingles outbreak. This pain can be severe and debilitating. We encourage all our patients to get the shingles vaccine in order to minimize the risk of shingles and postherpetic neuralgia.

Our doctors will work with you to form a comprehensive treatment plan addressing all aspects of your pain caused by postherpetic neuralgia. Possible treatments range from non-invasive therapy such as physical therapy and medication to minimally invasive options such as nerve blocks and intrathecal drug therapy. We take great care to individualize your treatment so that you are given the tools necessary to get the relief you are looking for.
